As usual safe and fun kids program are provided, as well as a light lunch following the service. FYI: The following date of our next Sunday morning service is EASTER SUNDAY on 4.4.10PM, and we would LOVE to have you experienc that special day with us!
Oasis Church in Union County Update
February 28, 2009 by David
Our Oasis Church Planting Team rocks! It’s as simple as that. The commitment level of these people, some of whom are not even Christ followers at this time, utterly amazes me. Believe me, it’s not easy planting a church from scratch in NJ. As one other church planter from the South bemoaned to me recently, “This ain’t Christian Wonderland like it is in the Bible Belt.” Hello? This is freakin’ New Jersey, okay?
In all honesty, there have been several times in the past few weeks that I have felt like giving up. My faith has been battered and tried. But last Sunday was a turning point. Last Sunday we were out in the bitter cold handing out flower seeds and information about our up and coming Alpha course to passersby in the highways and byways of Mountainside, Scotch Plains, Union, Westfield, and Watchung. I wanted to stop after an hour. Not them. They wanted to keep going, and going and going, just like that bunny battery dude. That’s when I knew this tiny Oasis TEAM was something special and that God is about to do some amazing things.
Hey, I’m not stupid enough to think it has anything to do with me. It doesn’t. However, it has ALL to do with faith and the power of vision. Our vision is simple: We will compassionately share Jesus with hungry and hurting people here in Union County New Jersey, and all around world. The fact that this little TEAM is naive enough to actually believe we can pull this off with God’s power is the reason we are about to turn this place upside down for Jesus. Stay tuned.

Oasis Church Update on Oasis-Church-NJ.com
November 3, 2008 by David
Some people new to our Oasis Church plant wondered about the name. Oasis Church? Why Oasis Church? Quite simply, we chose “Oasis Church” because our vision is to compassionately introduce Jesus and His love to tens of thousands of hungry and hurting singles and young families all around the world.
Over the past few weeks, folks have mistaken Oasis Church for a nightclub, water softener company and restaurant. That’s all cool I guess, but in order to clear up any misconceptions about what Oasis-Church-NJ.com is and isn’t, we offer the following:
Oasis Church Meaning
According to the dictionary, an Oasis is a refuge or fertile, green spot in a desert wasteland. Hurting and hungry people who feel burned by the world and past church experiences need a spiritual Oasis, and we at Oasis Church intend to provide it for them.
Although Oasis Church is not rich by worldly standards, and we are not many (yet!), our goals are lofty because we serve a lofty God. Do I need to remind you what Jesus did with a mere five barley loaves and two fish? Case closed.
By the way, how to you like our new logo for Oasis Church T-shirts, Oasis Church letterhead and any other kind of Oasis Church paraphernalia we can put it on?
